ALEXANDER COTTAGE - GARDENSTOWN - THE AREA

Gardenstown is undoubtedly one of the prime seafront villages that lace the Moray Coast. A village with ever changing vistas. Low tides will reveal a mix of scenic beach and colourful rock pools, whilst the storms in winter can bring the waves crashing onto the fisherman's cottages along the seafront. The sight of the Northern Lights or dolphins in the bay will ensure you will never forget your visit here!

The area is the ideal place to get away from it all, hence it's popularity with artists and nature lovers.

In the village there is a Post Office, Baker's Shop, Grocer's Shop, Pub / Restaurant and two Art Galleries.

Gardenstown is situated in the next bay to Pennan which was used as the location for the film "Local Hero".

The nearest towns are Banff/Macduff which are a short drive away.

The cosmopolitan city of Aberdeen with its many attractions is just over an hours drive away. Why not combine a short break at Aberdeen City Apartments with your time at Alexander Cottage.

Aberdeen Airport (ABZ) is approximately 40 miles away.

There is plenty to do in the area. The Whisky Trail and Coastal Trail are both popular.

For the more active Scuba Diving sites and Golf courses are plentiful in the area. Outdoor pursuits are also available on Kingscliff Estate where activities such as quad biking are available.

Fishing for salmon is possible on the nearby River Deveron and Bird Watching is also popular in the area.

If you are coming with children then why not check out the Lighthouse Museum or the fantastic Marine Aquarium situated in nearby Macduff.

If you fancy seeing the Moray Firth Dolphins or Minke Whales then why not take a Boat Trip out into Gamrie Bay. Further information is available from the Cetacean Dolphin Research Unit.
