Situation


Alexander Cottage is situated in the quaint Seatown area of Gardenstown on the Banffshire Coast Alexander Cottage Gardenstown Aberdeenshire from above also known as the dolphin coast since it is home to one of the world's most important group of dolphins. Seatown was home to a vibrant fishing community in the 19th century. Although most of the fishing boats are now in Peterhead, there are still smaller boats in the harbour. Seatown spills down the steep hills towards the sea. The cottages are close together and mainly not accessible by car with narrow lanes connecting them.

The Cottage


Alexander Cottage was built in the 1860's as a traditional fisherman's cottage While retaining its original charm the cottage also boasts every modern Gardenstown Holiday Cottage Aberdeenshire. convenience. The cottage is fully centrally heated with electric storage heaters but there is also a solid fuel stove in the lounge. The cottage has a double bedroom, twin bedroom and single bedroom. The cottage can sleep 5 in comfort but up to eight people with a single pull out bed and a double sofa bed. There is a comfortable lounge, a dining kitchen and a bathroom with shower over. Unusually for many of the cottages in Gardenstown, Alexander Cottage has a private terraced garden ,on the hillside above the cottage, from which spectacular views over Gamrie bay and the sea can be enjoyed.

The Lounge


The lounge is furnished comfortably with two sofas one of which also serves as a double sofa bed. The seating surrounds the original Victorian fire with a wood Alexander Seaside Cottage Lounge. burning stove. There is digital television, DVD player and Video player which sits on top of a Victorian chest of drawers. However it should be noted that due to its geographical location television reception can be poor in Gardenstown.

The Dining / Kitchen

The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, gas stove , oven and grill, microwave, toaster and washing machine. There is a plentiful supply of china, cutlery, pots and pans.

The Master Bedroom

The pretty wardrobe and chest of drawers are both antiques. The bedroom is light and bright with views down to the sea. The ceilings slope down as is traditional with these cottages but there is more than ample head room.

There are two oak single beds, another pretty antique wardrobe and a footstool which cleverly converts to an additional sofa bed when required (suitable only from young child) . As with the master bedroom the ceiling slopes down on one side adding to the charm of the room.

Bedroom 3


The third bedroom is the smallest bedroom. Again with the charming sloping ceiling but light and bright with a large window looking down to the sea. The single antique bed is larger than usual. It is an Edwardian bed painted green with the original gold engraving.
